Jiyen1213's travel blog entry: "As promised, here are some photos from my first real day of sightseeing in London. I took the phenomenal Underground system out to Charing Cross station, then wandered along the Strand which connects the cities of Westminster and the city of London (financial district) and then down along the Embankment along the Thames to Westminster Abbey, and then back to my apartment. Along the way, I took in the Eye, Palaces of Westminster (Parliament), Westminster Abbey, and some other lesser-known sites like a 3500 year old Egyptian obelisk, a monument to Royal Navy who died in WW I, the Battle of Britain monument, and even the offices of Deloitte & Touche. I crossed over to the South Bank of the Thames to admire Parliament. It was at that moment that it finally sank in that I was in London and on British soil. It was a good feeling. Hope you enjoy these pictures....some of them were taken at a very odd period of time, between sunset and dusk...I aim to take more (and better) pictures later in better light and also at night when everything is illuminated. If anyone is interested, I also visited Krishna Murali, who was the Secretary of Atma during the 2003-04 school year. He is studying at the School of Oriental Studies in the University of London.
