Elaqid's travel blog entry: "I'm excited to be back home. It has been several years since I came to Nice. We checked in at the hotel Floride, a small 2 star family operated hotel on the Boulevard de Cimiez, a short 5 mins walk from the Musee Chagall. Other attractions in the area are the Arenes de Cimiez, Archeological museum and the Matisse museum. This is the area I grew up in as a child. During the "old days" it was the neighborhood of Nice where the British settled for their vacations. It is up on hill and from many places you can see the bay ind the distance. Here is a view from our hotel room window. The first stop for food was of course La Pizza on the Rue Pietonne (paedestrian way) in the center of town. No matter what anyone says, this is THE BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD!!!!! And it has been that way for my 43 years at least :) Interestingly enough, I thought the prices would be somewhat expensive, but it really was not. I had a Reine (ham, mushrooms, cheese and tomato) all for 12 euros. The pizza is 14" in diamater (half), cooked on a wood stove. Regardless of your budget, you need to make a stop here and try it. There are 3 restaurants in the same area (La Pizza, Le Quebec, and ??? owned by the same family so you have your pick). After walking around for the afternoon, we came back to the hotel ...
